Getting Your Real Estate License in Arizona

Real estate is a big business. If you are interested in getting your real estate license in Arizona, here are the guidelines you must follow:

1. Eligibility for Getting the Real Estate License in Arizona

General Requirements

Age: Must be 18 years of age or older to be licensed.

Residence: Must be a resident of U.S. or lawful permanent resident.

Character: Must not be under indictment for any felony indicating character untrustworthiness.

Academic Requirements

Hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.

Pre-licensing requirements

No rejection of real estate application or in any state within the past two years.

Having successfully completed 90-hours of pre-licensing education from an approved real estate school for getting a real estate license in Arizona. For a broker applicant, it is required to have at least 3 years of experience as a licensed broker or salesperson during the 5-year period immediately preceding the date of license application.

2. Cost of Taking the Real Estate Exam in Arizona

The Examination fee for real estate salesperson examination is $75, and for real estate broker examination is $125.

3. Taking the Real Estate Exam in Arizona

The Arizona Department of Real Estate has employed Pearson Vue, a private testing center to handle the Arizona Real Estate Exam. Applicants must take an appointment from Pearson Vue. Call them at (888) 405-5776, or visit their website, www.pearsonvue.com.

Applicants must obtain at least 75% on both portions of the exam.

4. Document Submission for Getting the Real Estate License in Arizona

After passing the examination, applicants must submit the following documents to Pearson Vue for having their License Application issued.

  • Application fee of $135
  • Proof of residence
  • A fingerprint check (clearance card)
  • Certificate of a 6-hour contract writing course completion
  • Certificate of pre-licensing course completion
  • Any disclosure documentation of criminal offenses

5. Obtaining the Real Estate License in Arizona

Applicants must submit their license application to the Arizona Department of Real Estate within one year of passing the examination to obtain their real estate license in Arizona.
